Delete Your Account

1. First: cancel any active subscription

Cancel before you delete your account:

• Apple App Store (iPhone / iPad): open Settings → your name (Apple Account) → Subscriptions, tap Cờ•Chess•Qi, then Cancel Subscription.
• Google Play (Android): open the Google Play Store → profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions, select Cờ•Chess•Qi, then Cancel subscription.

If you delete your account without cancelling, billing continues until the current subscription period ends and you cancel it in the store.

2. Option A — Delete in the app (recommended)

If you can still sign in, the fastest way is the built-in account-deletion flow:

1. Open Cờ•Chess•Qi and sign in.
2. Go to the Menu tab.
3. Under Security, tap Account.
4. Scroll to Account Exit and tap Delete Account.
5. On the confirmation screen, tap the red Delete account button.
6. Confirm it's you when prompted — re-enter your password, or re-authenticate with Apple or Google. This confirms and runs the deletion.

Your account and data are deleted immediately, and the action is irreversible. Any other devices signed into the account are returned to the sign-in screen.

3. Option B — Request deletion by email

If you have already uninstalled the app or can't sign in, email support@cochessqi.com from the email address linked to your account, with the subject "Delete my account".

If you signed in with Sign in with Apple and used Apple's private-relay address, email us with enough information to identify the account — your username, your approximate sign-up date, and the last device you used. We verify that the request comes from the account owner before deleting, and we complete verified requests within 30 days.

4. What gets deleted

Deleting your account permanently removes:

• Your profile — username, email, avatar, country, friend code, and all skill ratings (Daily, Cờ Úp, Rapid, Blitz) and rating history.
• Your private data, including any phone number you saved and your per-device push-notification tokens.
• Your system inbox messages and your place in the matchmaking queue.
• Your friend connections (removed for both you and your friends) and your clubhouse membership.
• Tournaments you created that had not started yet are cancelled, and the players who registered are notified.
• Your sign-in identity (the underlying authentication account) and all data cached on your device.

Games you are currently playing are ended as a resignation so your opponents aren't left waiting.

5. What is kept, and why

A small amount of data is anonymized rather than deleted, because it is also part of other players' records and erasing it would corrupt their history and ratings:

• Completed games remain in your former opponents' game histories, but your identity in them is replaced with a generic "Deleted Player" label and your avatar is removed.
• If you were playing in a tournament that is already underway, your entry is kept (marked as withdrawn) and anonymized to "Deleted Player," so the remaining players' standings and tiebreaks stay correct.
• If you owned a clubhouse with other members, the clubhouse is not deleted — ownership transfers to the longest-standing member so the community continues.
• Anonymous crash reports already submitted for diagnostics contain no account information and may be retained.

An active Pro subscription is a billing record held by the App Store or Google Play, not data we store — it continues until you cancel it (see §1).

6. This is permanent

There is no grace period, no soft-delete, and no way to restore a deleted account. Your username and friend code are released for reuse immediately. If you want to play again later, you'll create a new account and start fresh.
